March 20 - Vernal Equinox (GC23FAT)

Postby Bonick0 » Tue Feb 02, 2010 9:32 pm

All day geocaching hike with a beautiful view at the top of the mountain. Last year was absolutely crazy - about 12 miles in 12 hours, tons of caches, and enough memories for a lifetime.

Who's with me?

Bonicko/Hallycat, what time are you guys leaving for the park and are they any other MNYGS people going? Is anyone car pooling? Are you guys to cache after the hike?

Probably will do the hike that weathernowcast is leading at 7.
Have not looked yet to see what time I'd have to leave to get there on time.
eeeeks, it's a 2.5 hour drive from home. Which would mean I'd have to leave my house at 4:30. Will have to think about this one some more.
Maybe get a room there Friday night.

Well, I'm leaving from Queens at the crack of dawn that Sat. Looks like Peeves is coming too. Tom, would you like to carpool with us? I hope you don't mind talk about science, dead bodies, and large amounts of controlled substances.

Can I just ride around in a car with you guys? These seem like really great topics for any day. ;)

ATTENTION!
Keep a close eye on the event page. Brian said that the park may not be open in time for the event but he will update.
Hate to see someone get up at the crack of dawn and arrive at a closed park.

Looking forward to it, staying over Friday so hope to see you guys.

March 9 by weathernowcast (2415 found)

Currently the trails are open ONLY to snowshoeing and skiing. We have 11 days to Spring. Hopefully the picnic can go on at this location. Stay tuned!
Also note the gates open at 10AM at the moment. This is better than closed.

Stay tuned to the developing story.

I will call the park this week for a verbal update on the situation

After the torrential downpour this weekend I officially hate the weather this year. It seems to ruin any meager weekend plans I have time for. Let's hope this Saturday is not getting canceled.
