Re: April 26 - Alley Pond Environmental Center CITO

... turned out to be a fun creative type who is now fascinated with geocaching. I brought her some handouts, local cache info, and explained the game while we were walking around. She asked if we would be interested in teaching a geocaching class on August 14th for the summer interns. As far as CITO ...

Re: Paperless caching

I've had Garmin 60CSx for a while and absolutely love it. I think I'll end up using GSAK as my primary database and will send waypoints to the GPSr and GPX info to the Palm. And then use both for maximum data access offline.

Re: NEWS: Texas cacher injured, gives EMS his coords

Definitely confused as to why it would take a while to find the exact coordinates. Even if EMS don't have dedicated GPS devices, I'm sure one of them had a smart phone. Crazy story. I'm glad the guy is alive.

Re: Staten Island

... about planning a bike trip out to there to do 1776 Phase 2 British Juggernaut-Revolutionary War (GC12PCB) and hit a few of the other caches while there. And that got me thinking, "Maybe I should plan it as an event cache. We can all meet at the Staten Island Ferry terminal and bike ...

Re: How do you plan a CITO?

The last time I CITO'd while cached I found some really sad and disgusting things, which made me reconsider doing CITO, maybe an CITO event will have me go back and CITO again. BTW, what people dump in parks makes me see how truly inhumane and sick some people are :x

Re: GeoJamboree 6 in CT (GC18ER1)

... figure out how to get it transfered to you. You may want to post this on the geocaching forums, there is a long thread that Divi Div started a while ago. I think someone will definitely ask for your site

Re: July - GC 101 / 201

While I like the idea of educating the Urban rangers, I think caching in the city still needs to be on the DL as there will be too many folks out there placing or looking for caches out in the open and that will not be good for this hobby/sport.
I would say do this well out of the city limits.

Re: Central Park asks for Geocache Removal

... the cache was missing. I was going to email the owner about it, but noticed that the owner didn't live in the area and had dropped the cache off while in town for a convention or event of some sort. It surprised me a little, as the cache was only a couple of months old. In fairness the CO is ...

Re: 1 Million!

The 1,000,000 cache was published a while ago (in 2008, I believe). Now, there are 1,000,000 active caches. To find any cache copy/paste this into your url: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=1000000 Where it says ID=1000000, ...
