Souvenirs - time sensitive 10/10/10

... around with the URLs to see if I could figure out how they are listed / coded / etc. on the site. The reason I am bringing it up now is that I while I was screwing around I turned up this icon, which AFAIK hasn't been officially announced by groundspeak anywhere: http://www.geocaching.com/souvenir/default.aspx?id=155 ...

Re: skeetsurfer = reviewer?

Skeetsurfer is from central PA. He/she and Keystone (from Pittsburgh area) are filling in for OReviewer while he is away on vacation. I travel to Ohio on a semi-regular basis to visit family, so I've seen skeetsurfer's name before in other parts of PA.

Re: Little people love geocaching too

... The only reason one particular member of my family is in to geocaching is because of the "stuff that I was supposed to bring back to them while they waited in the car".

Re: Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

... though I wouldn't be surprised if a stage or the cache is missing, the cachers are from Jersey but put a bunch of hides in Pelham Bay Park while biking through it during a visit to the female team member's mom in City Island; most of these hides have been muggled and they've archived. Where hath the coins gone?

I was reading a discover log on one of my Metro coins. For the first time in a while, I actually went and read the coin profile. Holy Moley--I was surprised at where my coin has been. It has over 13,600 miles on it. (TB2ZND3) I was wondering where the other coins ...

Re: Prep Time

... stick in the woods to make the walking a little easier but, sure, I could always smack something with it. I have never really felt in danger while geocaching (yet). Hopefully, it will stay that way.

Prep Time

... to swing my GPSr. One cacher told me when she feels threatened, she dials 9-1 and is ready to hit 1 again, another carries pepper spray in hand, while another walks with a hiking stick even when in the city. My question is... What do you take with you, or do in preparation, for "just in ...

Mammut caches in NYC

... (although well after the Mammut contest ended). I use the past tense because although the ciste's listing is still active, I searched for it for a while earlier this summer and came up empty. http://basecamp.mammut.ch/de/shoe-chase/geocaches/naumburg And just so you don't feel left out BLAA, there ...

Re: Tracking my search with my Garmin 305

Is yours the FORERUNNER 305? I have a 205 and while I see those kinds of things on the software itself when I connect my Forerunner to the computer I didn't realize you can post this kind of stuff online. I'm assuming if I'm right about what GPS ...

Re: Monkey's Lament on Geocaching.com blog!

Well, found it today after the event, and while I didn't find the cache itself particularly "unique" (but certainly a good quality hide and that fact that it's lasted this long there shows), I did like the view, it is much better than ...

Re: What I saw while camping

It's a remote stream gauge. Water flows through a water wheel and the gauge determines speed of flow and volume. That gizmo on top is an antennae and the information is sent to a satellite and then sent to a USGS ground station--probably the one in Cedar Rapids SD (where I tried to place an Earthcac...
