Re: Electricity and Caches

While I enjoy the occaisonal LPC, it does seem very plausible to have those happening more often than they do- I think Geocaching.com could possibly ban them within the next 5 years, and some other type of popular parking ...

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

I've suspected for a while that there are two, maybe three, people who operate behind the NYAdmin acct. I've seen replies/posts where NYA's questions appear he/she has very good knowledge and of GPS coordinates, placements and other ...

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

... I don't think it is a planned "mating dance" that is going to happen immediately, but if opencaching is successful (and remember, while I don't predict mass defection from Groundspeak I can imagine more new cachers going to Opencaching) to the point where they start to cannibalize ...

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

... I foresee is two containers at one location. I do not see competitors working together to avoid that problem. I think I've found seven letterboxes while searching for geocaches. But letterboxing is not that large an operation. If they get a few hundred thousand opencaches out there, there will ...

Re: What about this page doesn't seem right?

He apparently went back to Saxon Woods Cache several times with his kids and logs it each time. But while it's a "red flag" I wouldn't worry too much about this weird account. His find the other day was his first one in FIVE YEARS! It's not like he's constantly ...

Re: Interesting news regarding Groundspeak alternatives...

... I do question how they will stay afloat with no real funding source too. If I join a site, I like to know that my history will remain around for a while. At $30, GC is a steal for what we get and I'd happily pay more. I don't begrudge anyone the right to join up at an alternative community and ...

Re: How to contact a reviewer?

... to be seen by the reviewer for re-review. The comments about challenge/not challenge were also very helpful, so I created the cache in a way that while it is possible to attempt the cache at first, it would be unwise, because you would not have the starting coordinates. To obtain the starting ...

Re: How to contact a reviewer?

... When you get pulled out of the queue and then alter your listing you move to the back of the queue when you resubmit so it might take a little while depending on what else has been submitted.

It has been a while since I was last in the MetroGC forum, but figured I would post an update if anyone was interested. I did successfully complete my circumnavigation of island on October 3. Roughly 35 miles in 13 hours 6 minutes, ...

Re: What I saw while camping

It's a remote stream gauge. Yep! I find this data invaluable whenever I go kayaking so that I can see the condition of the river before setting out. I've done a couple of caches near them. One in Lansing I remember was an Earthcache. Gerk, I believe this is the site that you saw in person: http://w...

Re: I Hope You Win The Lottery Cache

... This cache was intentionally edited and re-edited to defeat the guidelines so I'm archiving and locking it. Trust is a very fragile thing and while its easy to obtain once lost its hard to recover. I guess he received word that there was a problem. Another one bites the dust.
