Re: New iPhone and Geocaching

... be dropped, a protective plastic window for the screen that still allows touch screen inputs, and can be attached with a strap to your arm or leg while you hike. - Logging from the field is cool, should you want to do that. As much better as the browser is on an iPhone compared with my Treo, I'm ...

Bow Cache is Back

This cache was laid up for a while due to CPC reconstruction work in the area, but the best container / camo on the island is back. If you haven't found it yet, it's worth a visit. A member of the Triple Crown for the container / camo category: ...

Re: Aug 7-9 Midwest Geobash

... give it another try. There were two 1-gallon jugs hidden near by. There were 4 holes drilled in the pipe. You had to get water, fill up the pipe while your team plugged the holes (maybe chewing gum or duct tape would have done as well) and the cache container then floated to the top. GENIUS! ...

Graveyard Caches

Question. How do you feel about graveyard / cemetery caches? I get the sense that some folks in geo-world love them, while others find them a bit on the disrespectful side. Does it make a difference if there is no physical container (i.e., a virtual waypoint or a question to answer ...

Re: FTF Etiquette

... think it's a fair and sporting thing to do. (I've even gone so far as emailing other cachers after being STF on a cache which is taking the FTF a while to log online - since I like to wait for the FTF to post first, other hounds don't have any other way of knowing that the FTF is no longer in ...

Re: New York Yankees retired #s series

It took me a while to collect these - I can only imagine how long it has taken ElToro to place and maintain them!

Re: What's the deal with Galaxy/Splinterheads and geocaching?

... Find Me, etc.). My best guess is that the account is controlled by a production assistant or other some such person who found some caches a while back, and they got the idea for a promotion and converted the account (with groundspeak's permission) into an advertising account. I don't really ...

I broke my poor 60CSx

So while in Texas I dropped my 60CSx as I was getting out of the car, and it fell two or three feet to the pavement. I've done something similar a bunch of times before, but this time my little unit wasn't able to shrug it ...

Re: Underground Cache Question

... but I think it shows a bit of the bias that groundspeak has in terms of GPSr use. I've seen a number of references in the forums to the fact that while TPTB don't actually require a GPSr for *finding* a cache, they still require one for *hiding* a cache. I've never been sure about how that would ...

Re: Westside caching advice...

... think - I know there's one at 72nd, 79th and 96th but beyond that I'm not sure - so once you're on that greenway path, you could be there for a while. So I'd plan to spend most of my time in Riverside Park instead, knowing that you have more options. As far as places to eat, my suggestions would ...
