And a lot of times they are willing ...

Geocache Hides

... be above what I call the "P-zone". Along the same lines- I have also wondered at the cruelty of cachers who place a hide in a place where one may be hurt- by brambles, by exposure to poison ivy etc. It is one thing to post a hide in such a way that you are telling the public that ...

Organizational Meeting--Final details

... and alas, no kids, :( since there are no more seats. In the future, we will have to look for a restaurant, facility with a party room or a place where we can do a pot-luck. The once place that I had was a Chinese buffet but GC.com turned me down because of the required minimum charge. Perhaps ...

Re: Instructor Group (google group excerpt)

... with them and kids to find some caches and have a blast. I've done this twice. I also have a GC 102 auction event pending for some date in future where we will be doing Urban Caching. I have some little kids but I will have to deal with that. I am concerned about Traffic in the East Village.

Re: How do you plan a CITO?

Whether we organized this illustrious group or not, I was thinking of doing a CITO. I have the contact info for Forest Park-, Queens -where I have 6 caches. The park is a 'dump' in areas. I might consider a picnic event in the spring as well and it might be a tie in. We can go anywhere, but ...

Re: Instructor Group (google group excerpt)

Urban Caching is nothing like Rural Caching. Before I moved to the city, I used to just go wander around in the woods and never see anyone, now wherever I go there's about 100 people just milling about let alone passing by. The other day I was wandering through central park introducing a friend ...

Re: Photo Gallery

By geotag, do you mean linking the photo back to the associated cache page or showing geographically where the photo was taken or something else? Flicker has rolled out something that can show where your photo was taken by showing its location on a map. Tried it quickly myself ...

Re: Organizational Meeting--Lower Hudson GC Group

Being a new member and just as new to Geocaching I will throw in my two cents 1. Should we have meetings? How often? Where? I would love for there to be some sort of meeting, maybe monthly. It is a good way for people to get together and meet in the real world. As for where, I live ...

Re: Organizational Meeting--Lower Hudson GC Group

Hi everyone - I'm planning on attending the meeting as well. Here's my thoughts for now. 1. Should we have meetings? How often? Where? Meetings are great - being able to put a face to a geocaching name and actually talking to each other goes a long way! Once a month seems like a good frequency ...
