Geocaching and Orienteering combined?

Has anyone thought of or mentioned combining geocaching with orienteering where people would have to run to find a designated number of hides (let's say in a 10 square mile area) in the fastest time? I guess using a digital camera to show pics of each hide would ...

Re: Puzzles Anyone?

... It's far more of a "physically-getting-from-your-home-to-the-final" time investment than the typical Puzzle cache. I know exactly where everything is and I have yet to complete a walk-through in fewer than four hours. The instructions on the cache page are clear, and the method ...

Re: But I'm not doing anything bad!

... log , from (since-archived) HRG Riverside reporting about a cacher's experience getting mugged (not muggled) at the cache site.) In situations where I don't have actual safety fears - where the concern is that I'm freaking *other* people out with my suspicious behavior - I don't let it bother ...

Re: Stories About Where We've Let Our GPS'rs Take Us

It took us down a residential street to a house on the right of the street as our final destination. Mind you, as I said, we didn't punch in any towns or addresses -- we just punched in Food and spelled out McDonalds. We had almost the exact same thing happen to us! We were using the factory instal...

Souvenirs - time sensitive 10/10/10

... a new icon thing called Souvenirs. It's not entirely clear to me how they work - I think they're trying to cash in on the Foursquare type thing, where you can "check in" and earn badges and stuff. Anyway, they haven't fully rolled them out, but a few of the Lackeys (people who work ...
