Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

... and the ABA by the NBA yet each merged into the bigger entity in the end (albeit the ABA in only a very partial way, like 4 teams out of 20 or something). I don't think it is a planned "mating dance" that is going to happen immediately, but if opencaching is successful (and remember, ...

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

... will be a fair amount of confusion. (Interesting that GroundSpeak does not own the word 'geocache'.) By the way, go into the Groundspeak forums (something that this thread has enlightened me to do for the first time in 3 months) and you'll see a bunch of angry threads about how an account named ...

Re: Do you think Opencaching is actually bad for Groundspeak

The API is something that allows developers to write third-party tools to interact with the company's code or database. Basically, an API lets other people write software besides just you. Companies that have open API's tend to ...

Re: Typo got me banned. Someone please help me.

Yeah, it's just 3 days, many on the Groundspeak forums (or on all of GC.com for that matter) have been banned FOR LIFE! And not always for something that deserved it......consider yourself lucky. And if there ever really is a time you want to rank on a reviewer; come on here and do it (we talk ...

Re: Geocaching 101 x 2

Just curious, won't NY Admin say something like you've posted the "meet and greet" too late for him/her to post it (I think they normally require 2 weeks notice for posting events)? Or have you already posted it to GC.com? As for ...

Re: Signing the logs

... so be sure to bring a writing utensil so they can sign the log. Also, I find that not having a writing utensil is no excuse and I guess that is something we all had to learn. I've signed all the caches I've found, and as you know I've found a few of them. ;) I asked NYAdmin's opinion on this ...

Re: A real hidden treasure!

Has anyone tried this? And found the pesos, er, dollars? (Not that you'd tell.) OR know if there really is something out there...

Going to have to watch the videos for the entertainment aspect, if nothing else. Heck! It's puppets! :D

Re: Metro NY Calendar

A calendar doesn't interest me so much. Electronics have taken over.

However I do like the idea of sharing really good / funny / whatever geophotos with each other in a printed format. Something like a coffee table book: http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-books

Just a thought.

New Garmin Chirp

... have been there already. REI has them for sale for $21.00 online. It seems like a great way to have some one get to a certain spot (maybe) to see something cool and then they can be sent to where the cache and logbook are! I'm going to order a few today!

Re: Geocaching commitment

The first and only GC tatoo I ever saw was a guy up in Nova Scotia at an gathering in July 2007. His name was Xizzi or something like that and he was showing it off to every one  . He said he was his own TB. Everyone just shook their heads. I guess he's a 'discover only' tb!

Metro NY Calendar

... we do these calendars I think pricing in an extra few dollars so that (say) John doesn't have to shell money out of pocket the next time he buys something the group needs would be a worthwhile goal. Doing it through a company like Zazzle is nice because (unlike the coins) we don't have to order ...
