Re: 10th anniversary events

... with the other half, I'm going to make a CITO event out of it. Then, in November, SLEEPY HOLLOW-1 will be turning 10 years old too. Another event might be in order. What is the oldest cache within the five boroughs? Very cool. The chances that I'd get approval to zip up to The Spot are close to ...

Souvenirs - time sensitive 10/10/10

... that it looks to me like if you find a cache tomorrow, Sunday (10/10/10) you will earn an icon for your profile in some fashion - an icon that you might never have the opportunity to go back and earn again. For those of you who are into icon collecting, you should make getting a cache on 10/10/10 ...

Geocaching on OPB

... on the way to Skaneateles for a nice getaway. I wanted to post up a link to a segment done on OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting) about caching that might be of interest to some of you. I love caching when I visit out there and it's definitely worth the trip to go visit the first ever geocache location. ...

Re: Check you cache logs

We are not actively monitoring our caches for bogus logs - if, in the future, something strikes as off we might investigate it and delete the logs. We haven't deleted any yet. In fact I noticed one cacher who was logging caches including some which were known to be missing and ...

FTF Etiquette

... do? Do I go out and sign the log BEFORE the cache is published? Well, I didn't go out - it seemed that going after a cache before it was published might be viewed as wrong. Or is it? After all from publicly available information on geocaching.com I was able to discern where the cache will be. it ...

Cache Placement Etiquette

... unit sufficient? Now sometimes this is not so significant ... for example, a hide in the woods. It’s kinda hard to pinpoint which tree your cache might be in. So I am not talking about rural hides (but a hide in a tree shouldn't show up as being in a lake!) So this is really an urban caching question. ...
