Re: Bridges, "Rock and Roll" (GC19FHX), "Handy Relief" (GC19NF1)

... it, to do geocaching, you do look 'suspicious' especially in city settings. I got a request to move a cache near the Arthur Ashe stadium in Queens because although it was on the outside of an ivy covered fence, I was still too close for comfort for the terrorist wary police. This is one reason ...

Re: Bridges, "Rock and Roll" (GC19FHX), "Handy Relief" (GC19NF1)

The 'Rock and Roll' and the 'Handy Relief' caches have been "retracted" -- Read the posting from NY Admin below. I was able to get this because I had them on my watchlist. I am glad that Fats277 is trying to add caches, but I am also unhappy that he is going against the rules. I checked ...

Re: Night Caching

... too deep for me to find cache. The numbers turned out to be the combination on the cache lock. Being NYC, I think a parking lot type may be better because I'm not sure if we should encourage some of our parks at night.

GC Home Page

... the map on the GC.com home page is Ridgewood NY. It was someplace else prior but don't know where. Is everyone getting that map or is it just me because I live near or have a cache in Ridgewood? All the caches shown are mine, I think. Take a look! Let me know...I am really curious.

Re: DNFs

... there. One DNF doesn't concern me, but 3, 4, 5 do. I think some players think it's beneath them to post DNF's. I post all the time. I like them because it reminds me of things I miss and I get to check on them occasionally--even that they've been found or I'm not crazy--no one else could find ...

... real data from 400 tombstones) and he said that while he didn't mind the class being there, he would prefer to not open it to the general public because of vandalism. Then you get Greenwood in Brooklyn that gives out tourist maps when you visit...so I think it's a mixed bag even within the cemetery ...

Maybe there IS another reviewer....

... note but knowing NY Admin, it was expected. Then I see all these new Brooklyn caches with magnets under postal relay boxes. I had to move 3 caches because I was told that's a no-no. So tonight, I'm going through my DNF's (some over a year old) and I find one for western NY State that was archived ...

... of those little green boxes that control traffic signals...it's about a foot off the ground and completely sealed. he said it was not appropriate because what would a policeman do if he needed access to the box. Huh? This is for Welsbach to repair the lights, not for a cop to manually control ...

Re: Stupid Muggles!

... Island but he said it was not. I was told by a Groundspeak lackey at the Mid Western Geobash in 2008 that NY Admin will NEVER reveal them selves because "you know how NY people are" NY Admin has supposedly been 'threatened' a number of time. Hmm..how DO you do that if no knows who you ...

Re: Stupid Muggles!

I'm not necessarily suggesting me although if offered, I would consider it. I think we just have to let the PTB that there is a concern. Yes, it is a private company, but it is because of us they are in business, so it is a two way street.

If you had a week to do geocaching....

To obtain the starting coordinates, you needed to have found some of the other TMP Quest caches. ...

I "Heart" Caching Event - 2/5/11, Peekskill, NY

... I had a great time at the last event, and I didn't see a page for this one here. Although it's not Metro NY, just a heads-up because I know a few from this crowd came last time, and hopefully we can get more to come to this one. It's at the Peekskill Diner, starts at 6. I'll ...
