Re: Wildlife in NYC

Yup, I've seen plenty of deer all along the Hudson (both sides). Once had a great experience seeing about 20 deer coming through the fog all at once while caching in Untermyer Park in Yonkers.

Wildlife in NYC

We all heard about the famous Central Park coyote . And we've all heard about other uncommon animal sightings, such as: - a shark in the Gowanus Canal - rabid raccoons have been spotted in Central Park and Queens - rare ducks and ...

Re: Unusual request from out of state cacher

... and left it at that. Now that I see that he cut and pasted his request and sent it to at least two folks (and probably more), I feel even better about declining. And maybe wish I had kindly explained why what he is requesting is less than kosher.

Re: Finds in New York County

Is he confused about the purpose of the "Kid Friendly" attribute? I think what happened this that the guy who owns the cache Ruth linked to got mad that the cache had gotten muggled or something and maybe decided that it ...

Re: An Article on the ET Highway

... the second. In short, each cache is lame as you'd expect, but the whole experience is greater than the sum of it's parts, if you keep an open mind about it. It's also a good bonding experience for your group. I went with my brother. Just the two of us and no cheating like many did with the first ...

Re: Westside caching advice...

... along the Hudson the entirety of the way between 60th-125th - it used to be my morning jogging path (before they pulled a body out of the river at about 100th a few weeks ago - I run in the other direction now). Aside from that path there also is Riverside Park itself. That said, you'll probably ...

Westside caching advice...

I'm planning on taking my geocaching scout troop on a day hike on November 19 and I was thinking about the caches along the west side from say 125th street south to perhaps 60th street or so. I see there are lots of caches but I have a question about walking--are there ...

Goodbye NYC!

Hi guys, it's about time I post in here. I'm moving to DC in a couple of weeks for a new job. It's been my pleasure to be involved with MetroGC and meet many locals cachers. I'll certainly be back to visit, but it's time to say goodbye. Email me via gc.com any time. :)

Re: Cache Ninja cache

The cache is actually too close to another nearby cache, about 300ft away. It was while they were searching for that one, that the previous finders back in 2007 "found" this one!

Cache Ninja cache

... Taxman417, Labrat101, seagirtlight, Karensplace08 and I were in Harriman on Saturday on a Cache Ninja cache quest. I had read quite sometime ago about his Doodletown cache (GC169) which was archived a number of years ago and was last found in Dec. 2007, after it was archived. So, I put the cache ...

Best Log Thread

... skills, I may have a new favorite: the FTF log by KIAX for GC34YN5. I may never be able to get the image of a wildcat with sparkly rubies prowling about the Palisades out of my head. Plus, the dynamic range of emoticons (as well as their various colors and semi-awkward placement) used was extraordinary. ...

How about Groundspeak sets up some sort of website where we can log the trackables we've stolen? That way, everyone can know how great we are! Of course, ...
