Re: Container suggestions

Maybe a bison tube would cut down on the maintenance... You'd have to give up any dreams of trading even extremely small items with a bison tube, but the gas savings alone from not having to drive out to the coords for repairs so often would probably make it a worthwhile replacement container.

Re: TomTom One with a Garmin GPS60csx Cable

Almost definitely. The mini-USB ports are identical, and although I don't have a Tom Tom One, I have used different USB cables with my Garmin than what came with the unit without any trouble. Re: Oldest active caches

From talking with EVF, I think GC30E by cache ninja was the first cache placed in Brooklyn. It was delisted by GC.com for reasons I'm not sure of but lives on as a terracache (although the current posted coords are about 1/4 mile away from the archived GC.com coords). I think the oldest active "...

Good GPSr for Schools?

I know there are more than a couple of GPS-educators out there who can help me with this... My daughter's first grade class is doing a year-long unit studying Central Park, and I was discussing with the teachers some weeks ago about using GPS technology to enhance their experience. Not necessarily j...

Re: Good GPSr for Schools?

Great, thanks for the suggestion. I saw that the HC model is on Amazon for only $137, which I am leaning towards even though it's a little more expensive... Not for the color so much as the USB connectivity (they have a Mac in the classroom so I think the PC serial cable is a non-starter). I think t...

The model that you have - how do you connect to the computer for downloading waypoints?

Re: I Cache NY shirt

I think black, or a very dark green. I like dark green shirts, and think that color works well for geocaching-type stuff.

LOVE the design.

Re: Paperless caching

I'm a big gadget fan, but if you are tempted to also convert your m130 into a GPSr with with some of the expansion kits that are available, I wasn't too happy with my Palm-based phone that way... It's kind of nifty to do, but I found that primary-function GPSrs are *way* more reliable, and that shif...

I might be doing something wrong, but I clicked through to World66 and it looked like a travel guide / review site?

Re: Bridges, "Rock and Roll" (GC19FHX), "Handy Relief" (GC19NF1)

Summer on the Hudson is one of my favorite area caches, bummer that it was a challenge to get listed. I think sometimes there is a disconnect between a challenging cache and a problem cache. It is a drag when the admins assume at first that a challenging cache is a problem. But it's also fair to kee...

Re: Puzzles Anyone?

Another puzzle by G.O. Cash - . It's a good one. As difficult as the puzzle is, there have already been close to 10 visitors in less than a month - pretty good sign that New York puzzlecaching has a heartbeat.

Re: Bridges, "Rock and Roll" (GC19FHX), "Handy Relief" (GC19NF1)

Any ideas? Same advice I'd give anyone about something that happened on the Internet six weeks ago I guess... Decide how upset you want to be about it and go from there. If your stones are so burned that it's strongly motivating you a month and a half later, I don't have much to offer. If you want ...
