A Chatty cache goes to New York

... Banff, Calgary & Edmonton, and many more places in between. We couldn't miss this opportunity to re-visit New York, first time here as cachers though, and spend some time doing: GC17MX1- Bridges & Arches Cache And of course we also wanted to meet up with some other cachers to swap TB's ...

Re: Container suggestions

You can try this place:

http://www.medicalsupplygroup.com/

I don't have a good read on how competitive the pricing is though.

Re: The Congratulations Thread

... other day that I seem to be spending more time maintaining my hides than finding new caches - and I only have six active listings! No complaints though... I may not be able to keep up numerically, but I'm not going to quit golfing just because I can't shoot Tiger's score* :) * Actually, I don't ...

Re: Bookmark Lists - One Man's Manual

Dude thanks for the post. It was very unclear when I made my NY DeLorme challenge bookmark list what those option are. Question though. If I decided that I wanted to change the setting of a preexisting bookmark list, Is it an easy change or do I have to recreate it from scratch because ...

Re: Not Signing the Logbook

... trying to be helpful. I've replaced more than one cache container, for more than one CO, in my day, and I didn't think I was being a bad guy (although I never did it after failing to find the cache in the first place, and then claiming it as a find). But as far as the people who found the replacement ...

Re: Cache Placement Etiquette

... the opening sentence may simply be the easiest way to describe geocaching to people - it's how I describe it to people who ask me what it is, even though I don't believe that it's restricted to people who own GPSr's, or to people who feel they must only use them even when superior methods of geo-navigating ...

Re: Metro NY Geocaching Society Geocoins!

... just really hard to do in this post-9/11 world. Nevertheless, I did eventually figure out a way to add my own credit card to the account (even though my last name is not, in fact, "Geocaching Society", as the system insisted on insisting). Not a perfect solution, but it'll work for ...

Re: Caching Peeves

Here's something that I would have thought would annoy me, but it doesn't. One of my caches gets a new Found It from the same geocaching login every few months. I wouldn't do that, and my initial gut reaction to seeing it on one of my caches ...

Re: must dos?

... might be helpful: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=550214c2-d312-46d1-aa80-7425a8c15051 It only covers caches listed in 2008 though, so there are still some gems that aren't covered. Battery Park City?

... it's all part of the same thing. I notice that despite the nice weather, the nearby An Gorta Mor (GC1PQRA) hasn't been found in over a month, even though Teardrop had been found a few times since. But other caches in the area seem to be fine.

Re: NY Urban Race

My brother and I took third in NYC in this event in 2008 out of a couple hundred teams, and we took 12th at the Nationals. It's pretty fun - a LOT of running though. A bunch do it in fun, but to be competitive you best be ready to hustle!

Re: Summer on the Hudson

Though it sounds fishy, we can't be sure until someone checks the logs. It is very possible he/she found 26 caches in one day (or maybe just logged all in one day). While technically true, and I normally wouldn't bother to ...
