... August 23rd from 1pm until 5pm at the Le Pain Quotidien next to the Sheep Meadow in Central Park. Just look for the people tinkering with their GPS devices and notating little toys!

Re: TB Thieving Stats/Tributes

... out there 5* terrain caches. I Like the 'Your TB needs help' part. Yeah, it needs to be rescued from someone who stole it, stashing it away in their closet (bastards...), not from the cache! BB

Cachers leaving TB's OUTSIDE of micro caches

... research I found that they are just dipping the TB. They "place" it on one day and when they leave the area they grab it to take on their travels even though it never left their possession. I have heard of people dipping their own TB's to keep track of their travels but these TB's ...

Re: Clever Cache Ideas

... idea being problematic. FTF hunters (or 'hounds') tend to be very dedicated and experienced cachers. As such, I would expect that they would take their curse obligation seriously and not produce crummy hides. In general, I see the point re not encouraging the general caching community not to place ...

Security alert bulletin

... called property management at a location in midtown Manhattan and gave them clues as to where they might find the “treasure” hidden on their property. The treasure box was later found in a sprinkler control valve (please see images below) and yesterday, another small treasure was found ...

Re: Best Log Thread

... publish it (killjoy! ) I'm surprised more people don't road trip to this one so they can (ha ha heh heh) claim a "5/5" in their caching stats ;)

Re: Best Log Thread

... is one of those caches that is just so great, pretty much everyone that finds it takes the time to write out a great log detailing some aspects of their adventure. Lots of great log reading there for those so inclined. Well done (and definitely required caching for any that live in the greater ...

Re: NYC "seed caching"?

The last "seed project" I can think of in the metro area was Connecticut's "Little Green Men" series a few years ago, several caches also made their way into Westchester (though none reached the boros).

Re: NYC "seed caching"?

Thanks addisonbr, that helps clarify things quite a bit. Bummer! Though I ultimately agree with what I perceive as their logic; it would likely be a bad idea to have crummy caches (i.e., geotrash) either being submitted or even published simply because someone picked one up from ...

NYC "seed caching"?

... than a seed 'cache' per se). Such might be appealing to visitors from out of town as well (e.g., a NYC seed cache to take back and place in their hometown). Bee Bait

Re: Unusual request from out of state cacher

Yep, same message word-for-word. Except for the part about getting throttled; I guess their message to me was early enough in the process that they didn't run into that yet. I sent them a KML file with the final locations for all of the hidden finals I know about ...

Re: "Congratulations" tweets

What angle do they have for retweeting them? Do they have ads in their feeds or something to draw you in once you check to see who has retweeted it? Why do it?

Re: Unusual request from out of state cacher

I have a cache on Deer Island right outside Boston (GC3198N) that just got a recent log from a cacher from North Vernon, IN. Could it be the same one? If so, they were on Day 99 of their streak yesterday. That means today is going to be their big day!!

Crime at Crime Alley

... on, we spotted a fourth) in the backyard right next to Crime Alley (GC38CT3) that looked real bad. We're sure one was dead, and the other two on their way. We called the ASPCA and they sent over two officers. People walking by said the dogs belonged to the building's superintendent. No food, ...
