Dinering from the Verb 8 -- First Flight

http://coord.info/GC41MWD Dinering from the Verb 8 -- First Flight We are back for the 8th time. It's been a year since the last Dinering event -- Metro NY's favorite Geocaching Meet and Greet. This year, I am celebrating an airplane flight. I had never flown (in an airplane--AND ...

Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

... They only publish the coords for the 1st stage. Plus no one has made a find in 5 months. My cache was entitled "How 'erratic' are you?" since it is close to a large glacial erratic boulder at the northern tip of Hunter Island, north of Orchard Beach (Bx.) I think it's hidden in a clever ...

Re: Interested in finding an "unpublished" cache?

... to go back and look again but my plans went awry. So I emailed the owner and asked her to check its status. I thought it was only 5.5 months since anyone posted anything about it? I also sent a request to 2 other cachers I hold in high esteem about my situation and asked them if they could ...

Re: Cache Stats?

... side of this stuff, so I don't know how much of that can be done with a script. According to the above link only 23 people have installed it since November, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that none of the caches I've logged have ever received a vote. PS - Is there a specific reason ...

Bridges, "Rock and Roll" (GC19FHX), "Handy Relief" (GC19NF1)

... complainer, you got two of the best caches in NY shut down. Nice move. The cache says no kids, and it has all of the right danger attributes. So, since you already have claimed to contact me, contact me for real and you can show me your manual of rules and regulations you claim to have expertise ...

Re: But I'm not doing anything bad!

... and I've heard similar unpublished stories from others. If you look for this one, just be smart about it. (I also remember this log , from (since-archived) HRG Riverside reporting about a cacher's experience getting mugged (not muggled) at the cache site.) In situations where I don't have ...

Re: Muttontown Preserve

... just a bit further east in the Stillwell Preserve. Your friend may or may not think that's nifty. mmacgown will know more about them than I do, since she's the CO.

Re: I've Watched the Watchmen

I will keep this shorter and more punchy, since you know and understand comics better than I do. Nevertheless: - Alan Moore is indeed insane. I love Milhouse asking Moore to sign his "Watchmen Babies" DVD a couple of seasons ago: watchmenbabies.jpg ...

Re: Upper Manhattan

... definitely still there? It looks like the last successful log is 4 1/2 years ago and the container wasn't doing very well - have you checked on it since? And do you happen to know if the cache itself is behind any of the security fences? The sat. photos make it seem very possible, although they're ...

"Meet Someone New" is gone :(

... leaving open the option of unarchival. It's too bad, it was a neat idea. I'm not even sure how many people here in New York knew about it, since the initial waypoint is listed in LA. For those interested in a similar concept, check out Marvelous Muttontown Preserve , about 20 miles away ...

Battery Park City?

... despite the nice weather, the nearby An Gorta Mor (GC1PQRA) hasn't been found in over a month, even though Teardrop had been found a few times since. But other caches in the area seem to be fine.

Re: Manhattan Magellan

... some spare time, could you check to see if it's still there for me to find? *hint, hint* haha ;-) That's actually on my list of things to do! Ever since lefalaf's DNF I've had it in mind to double-check it. If I can find someone to go with me before the 3rd, I might be able to check it before you ...

Breast Cancer Awareness Geocoin

... so I walked in the San Francisco Susan G. Komen 3-day for the Cure, a 3-day 60 mile walk to fund raise and to raise awareness on breast cancer. Since that first walk, I have never looked back as it truly was a life changer when I was privileged to walk with so many focused, determined people ...
