Re: 2011 Metro GC Award Nominees!

Thanks for compiling all this, Brett. So many of them are out of NYC this year, that I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to vote in many of the categories. But, it's nice to see the outer boroughs, and even caches out of the city, included!

Re: Geocaching project on KickStarter

Hi, that sounds like a neat idea! You might want to repost this on Metro NY GC's Facebook wall, I think what's been going on is everyone seems to post on there now and bypasses this board, but I can't be sure. I think by the time I go through all the "new since I've last been ...

Re: Clever Cache Ideas

Wow, that looks very clever! You might want to repost this on Metro NY GC's Facebook wall, I think what's been going on is everyone seems to post on there. I think by the time I go through all the "new since I've last been on here" (which appears to be late May!) posts ...

First Boat Out

Pretty Quiet here lately!

Has anyone decided to run the "First Boat Out" Event?
I know the Bonick0 has moved - just was wondering if anyone was going to keep the traditional alive.

Re: Unusual request from out of state cacher

I have a cache on Deer Island right outside Boston (GC3198N) that just got a recent log from a cacher from North Vernon, IN. Could it be the same one? If so, they were on Day 99 of their streak yesterday. That means today is going to be their big day!!

Unusual request from out of state cacher

... myself in the foot by finding all of the caches close to the hotel early on and I know the weather isn't very dependable this time of year. I'm going to have two short layovers in EWR next week (airline crew) and was hoping you might do a cacher a big favor and place a cache or two somewhere ...

Re: An Article on the ET Highway

... is another. Just saw this too and reported the account to GS for consideration. I hate to do that, but this account seems to be pretty bogus. Going to delete the log(s) on my cache(s).

High School Cartography.

... post here! I'm a high school teacher at the NYC iSchool, a public high school in SoHo. I teach film, design, and other things - and this fall, I'm going to be teaching cartography. I love mapping, but have very little experience with geocaching and orienteering, and I want to be able to bring that ...

Re: Challenges - Thoughts?

They didn't really think about the fact that nobody asked for them, and if they had actually done any focus group ...

Re: Summer on the Hudson

These stories always make me wonder if the cachers think that noone would check their bogus logs. If you are going to lie about the finds, at least make it realistic. Perhaps stick to easy micros, along the same road, within a short distance of each other. Otherwise you are either ...

Re: Challenges - Thoughts?

... get to learn something historic or geological, discover a fun spot and get credit for it. That's certainly not "caching", but I'm not going to pass on a smilie. I assumed this was going to be the DeLorme grid type of challenges or find 5 types of caches in a day challenge. The challenge ...
