2011 Metro New York Geocaching awards!

... and the results are in! I'd like to stress that there are no losers here - this sort of awards balloting is an inexact exercise (not everyone found every cache on the list, not everyone who did find these caches voted, and so on). But what follows is a fantastic list of caches that gave our ...

On a much slower trip to 1000 (I estimate sometime in 2015, LOL!), we found our 700th today!

... his) wouldn't concern him. I also noticed that he just dropped off a TB that he had been holding on to for 9 months but logged at each cache he found. The goal of the TB was to log the most miles in one year but I would think that means through the hands of many cachers. I guess they cache differently ...

Cachers leaving TB's OUTSIDE of micro caches

I have become very frustrated when I see logs like this on my caches: Found the cache in our second try. I left two trackables attached to the magnet of the cache and placed the cache underneath the marble right in the corner . It's covered up with a little ...

Re: Best Log Thread

Another interesting one of note is GCDFB (4.5lb Walleye), which someone commented on as 'On August 24th 2010, this became the oldest unfound active cache'. Considering that the CO specifies the cache as a 'Red plastic cache' and the hint states '75 +- yards from river bank, Opposite east ...

With a heavy heart.....

05.25.12 It has been an absolute blast to be part of the NYC caching community. A great place with great hides and great folks. I just wish I had found more time to dig into some of the puzzle caches scattered about Manhattan! Later this summer, our time here in NYC will be up as we are moving ...

Re: Worst Container Thread

Worst cache we've found? Take-out food container hidden under a ten-pound rock on a lawn. (Sorry. I did not take a photo.) I called it 'the smashed cache.'

Re: Security alert bulletin

Hmm... Thanks very much for posting that. I thought I had found all of the midtown caches (POPS or otherwise) and I don't recognize those photos at all. They do look like they could be from a POPS-like space, the second photo in particular. But I still ...
