1st find and 1st fellow geocacher on same day!

... the future. Interesting, eh? having these two firsts happen nearly at the same time. Incidentally, he was going out to find the cache I had just found.

Geocaching and Orienteering combined?

... (let's say in a 10 square mile area) in the fastest time? I guess using a digital camera to show pics of each hide would determine if each runner found all the designated hides? These hides/caches would only be put out for the event and removed afterwards. The geographical area would only be announced ...

Re: Responsible muggles

That rules! When I found Phase 7 of Alan2's 1776 series up in the Bronx, I wasn't surprised to see that EVF had beat me to the cache - but I was surprised that a muggle had claimed the FTF two or three weeks before publication! According ...

Re: It must not be about the numbers...

You may be on to something. Both finders were on Adak doing UXO work - disposing of unexploded ordinance left over from WWII. I don't think they found the cache by accident - I think it was more like what you were describing with the Antarctican scientists who have the equipment, and a lot of ...

Re: November 8 - WWFM 4 (GC1GA3R)

That makes some sense. I don't have events on my notification list, and my notification radius is too tight for most events. I only found out about Paladin8's event the other week because Dooley and mmacgown both mentioned it to me in email as I was emailing them back and forth about caches ...

Re: Whatever happened to....

... and/or NY Admin back when we first decided we wanted to dip our toes into cache ownership. To make a long story short, we looked for Logg Inn, found a partially muggled container, tried to coordinate long-distance maintenance with the cache owner but it didn't work out. About a month later ...

Re: Need a creative solution

Have you tried the super-duper sticky-back Velcro? I just found this stuff a few days ago - it seems pretty good:

August 28th - World Burn Congress - Community Outreach

... Groups will be given basic information about treasure locations, and can then use the location coordinates to find the caches (treasures). Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards, and the “hunt” itself is sure to build new friendships as you work together. ...

Re: Underground Cache Question

... would he/she reject the listing? I have no idea. Nevertheless, getting back on topic, my advice is that if your cache can't ultimately be found with a GPSr (for example, if it's underground), make sure that you stress in the description or the reviewer note how GPS coordinates and/or GPSr ...

Re: hunter gtech - RETRACTED

... the one Harry mentioned that was too close to the hidden final stage of another cache, those are the four that I was a spectator for. (I actually found and logged that last one - it shows up in my caching history, but I can't click through to the cache itself.) I'm aware of one other retraction ...

Re: 5 Caches in Central Park I can guarantee you haven't found

Excellent tip. I looked for them this morning... found the three most northern, but whiffed on the other two. I'm guessing that they have been muggled... or whatever the French word for muggled is. I doubt they'll be replaced anytime soon, as I think ...

Re: What about this page doesn't seem right?

There's a pilot / flight attendant couple that logs one of my caches as found whenever they visit (about every year or so). I haven't begrudged them that.

Washington APE Cache archived

... , but it's been stripped of its icon because it's no longer the original container. (It's kind of messed up, actually, because people who found the original APE container lost the icon when it was un-archived and switched over. They hadn't really thought through all of the implications ...
