... was difficult and frustrating. But... what can you do. Brett's got a good point, just do the basic work, and make sure that the spots are clear before doing all the work to find out it's "occupied".

I'm not a prolific cache hider, but I've been doing it for long enough that I know to check my locations with New York Admin before doing any further work on them, only going forward once I've been given the all-clear. But how would a new cacher know to do that? I've seen ...

... They can be very annoying, when you don't really need them. I think so. Probably the easiest way is to upload the waypoints to a software tool before sending them along to your GPS. GSAK is by far the dominant choice, but Garmin has a default product that came with my map CDs that works well ...

When this first got posted and I was planning to participate (before the real world got in the way) I did a little googling of the people who had sent the initial emails and two of them listed themselves on LinkedIn and Facebook as being "Interns" ...

... cache above but most times I think it puts people at ease and I haven't had many problems. I work nights so I often go caching during the weekdays before work. A 37yr old male walking around in hiking boots during the day during the work week definately sends up red flags. :-)
